Your our college experience at UW-Marshfield/Wood County is not limited to what takes place in the classroom.  Our campus offers a variety of student organizations which compliment our academic offerings by helping you grow socially, spiritually, intellectually and emotionally.  At UW-Marshfield/Wood County, you’ll find clubs and organizations that meet your specific interests and needs.  From Student Government to the Mature Marauders – our campus offers something for everyone!

Student Governance
The Student Senate is the official student governance body on campus. It generally meets during the noon hour on Wednesdays. Its purposes include the distribution of more than $117,000 in student monies to various clubs and organizations on campus and representation of the student body in the overall governance of the campus.

The Student Senate officers for 2009-10 are:

Farrago - This campus literary booklet is published in the spring.  It contains student essays, short stories, photographs, poetry art and more.

Future Health Care Professionals -- This association creates fellowship among students in health care, broadening their exposure to profesional opportunities and expectations.

Geo Adventure Club -- The Geo-Adventure Club provides extended field and laboratory experiences for students interested in physical geography, geology and meteorology.

Insight - "Insight is the UW-M/WC campus newspaper.  It comes out monthly, and is written and produced by students.  Opportunities for reporters, photographers and graphic designers are available.

Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship -- The purpose of this group is to deepen and strengthen the spiritual life of its members through Bible study, prayer and fellowship. 

Mature Marauders (M&M's) -- The purpose of this club is to offer support and fellowship for all non-traditional students attending UW-M/WC.  In addition to sponsoring events that are of particular interest to non-traditional students, we facilitate communication between non-traditional students, the Student Senate, and the school administration concerning issues that are unique to non-traditional students

Music -- Whether you’re an accomplished musician, or have always wanted to be one, we have an instrument or vocal program for you.  Our students have plenty of opportunities to perform and share their talents with outer in our state-of-the-art theatres. 

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) -- This is an honor fraternity serving two-year colleges which offer Associate Degree programs.  Membership is by invitation only, and is based on grade point average and academic excellence. PTK undertakes a variety of service projects on the campus and in the community throughout the academic year.

Students Opposing Acts of Prejudice  (SOAP) -- An organization to raise awareness regarding acts of prejudice and the effects thereof.  The club works to establish a sound understanding of the problems revolving around these acts and moves to combat them.  They provide a safe environment for victims of discrimination to voice concerns and promote healthy relationships between people of all backgrounds. 

Student Education Association (SEA) -- An organization of students interested in education as a career.  Activities include field trips to schools of education, guest speakers, children's Christmas toys, etc. Also a source of advising and support for education majors. 

Theatre Arts -- All the world’s a stage - including UW-M/WC!  Our theatrical productions are famous throughout the area.  Our students have the chance to act on either our thrust stage theatre or our Black Box theatre.
