Work-Study Employment
How to get a work study position... and get paid for it! Follow these steps...
- Be sure you have been awarded and accepted "Work Study" on your Financial Aid award offer.
- You must be enrolled for at least 6 credits during the semester.
- Schedule an interview with the supervisor listed with each position. At the interview, hours and pay will be decided.
- Fill out the work study application and bring with you to the interview.
- If you are hired for a position, pick up a Work Study Eligibility packet from Dawn Messerschmidt in the Student Services Financial Aid office. The supervisor must complete their section of the work study eligibility form.
- You MUST return the completed Eligibility form and payroll packet to Tuition Services before you will get paid.

Media Center/IT Helpdesk Assistant - Filled
Duties and Responsibilities: Assist IT by acting as the first point of contact for all customers requesting help from the helpdesk. Log calls and create tickets for users, check computer labs, create photo IDs and stock printers with paper and other duties as assigned.

Customer Service Assistant - Student Services - Filled
Duties and Responsibilities: Cover the front desk in the Student Services Office; greet guests, answer phone calls, provide information and forms, and direct guests to appropriate staff members as required. Copying, filing, shredding, typing. Provide assistance with recurring projects and testing. Make appointments using MS outlook and excel data bases; other duties as assigned.

Media Technician - Filled
Duties and Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance to instructors and students in Distance education rooms. Duties include but not limited to: opening DE classrooms, starting equipment, making connections, doing sound and video checks, assisting instructors and students with equipment operations, monitoring class for equipment malfunctions, troubleshooting problems during class, documenting problems, contacting others as needed, turning equipment off and locking room(s) at conclusion of classes, and enforcement of classroom rules.

Duties and Responsibilities: Clean-up and keep order in labs and stockroom, prepare solutions, place items on reagent shelves in an orderly manner and with clear labeling for lab exercises in chemistry courses (124, 125, 145, 155); remove items from reagent shelves and return to proper location in stockroom, fill distilled water containers and paper towel dispensers in lab, etc. Assist in preparing demonstrations as time permits. Library Assistant - Filled
Duties and Responsibilities: Perform circulation tasks, check out and check in library materials. Help patrons use the library by answering library (reference) and/or computer-related questions. Process new materials as they are received. This includes daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, and other new acquisitions. Computer and clerical/office work; includes using Microsoft programs. Also, answering phones, giving directions to other areas on campus, showing people how to use the copy machine, etc. Help maintain the appearance of the library including shelving books, magazines and shelf-reading and making sure library materials are in proper order.

Qualifications/Skills Required: Attention to detail; computer skills or are capable of using computers. Being able to work with faculty, staff, students and community is necessary. A willingness to learn and perform many tasks is required. Much on-the-job training is given. Punctuality is necessary - library work schedule is set for the whole semester for all of the library employees.

Student Parking Enforcement Officer - Filled
Duties and Responsibilities: Provide information to students and visitors regarding appropriate parking on-campus. Enforce campus parking regulations through issuance of citations (when necessary). Create reports regarding parking citations and communicate said reports to Assistant Dean for Administrative Services. Identify parking problems and assist in development of options and solutions.

Youth Net Technology Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities: The Youth Net Technology Assistant will help to support and maintain the technology needs at the Youth Net Center. This individual will be working in an after school program that serves students 8-18 years of age. This includes updating and scanning 25 computers multiple times a week, opportunities for youth, supervising the computer lab during after school hours, and having weekly meeting with supervisor.
