UW-Marshfield/Wood County hosts annual Math
League
UW-Marshfield/Wood County will be hosting a
Math League from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19.
This is a great opportunity for students
to compete with other students from their area schools, said
Kavita Bhatia, associate professor of mathematics at UW-M/WC.
Each school shall bring one or more teams
of 12 high school students. Students will compete both in
individual contests and group events in the areas of algebra,
geometry and pre-calculus.
About 100 students from area high schools
including Auburndale, Columbus, Marshfield, Medford,
Neillsville, Pittsville and Alma Center will be participating.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
9:30 10 a.m. Arrival and Registration
1011 a.m. Individual Competitions
11 1:15 a.m. BREAK
11:15 2:15 a.m. Group Competitions
12:151:40 a.m. Lunch
1:402 p.m. Awards (Theatre)
2 p.m. Departure
