Arts at the UW presents

MARSHFIELD – Becky Schlegel and Teresa, two bluegrass
performers, will be on stage at UW-Marshfield/Wood County at
7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Helen Connor Laird Theatre.
These female vocalists, sponsored by the Performing Arts Series,
Marshfield Clinic and the Laird Endowment Fund for the Arts, are
favorites on college campuses throughout the United States.
Tickets are $15. UW-Marshfield/Wood County students are admitted
free with a student ID.
Becky Schlegel & her band, True Blue, won the Minnesota Music
Academy's Bluegrass Band of the Year award for 2000. In 2001 her
CD, Red Leaf, was released. In 2002 the title song was
named “Minnesota Song of the Year" at the Minnesota Music
Festival. Later that year, she received four Minnesota Music
Academy nominations and was given awards for “Bluegrass/Old-Time
Artist of the Year” and “Bluegrass/Old-Time Recording of the
Year.” She was honored with the “Bluegrass Artist of the Year”
by the MMA again in 2003 and 2004. Her second solo CD,
Drifter Like Me, makes its debut in 2005.
Singer-songwriter, Teresa, who uses only her first name, has won
seven National Association of Campus Activities College
Entertainment Awards including “Coffeehouse Entertainer of the
Year.” She has delivered her original music to more than 1,000
campuses, earning her living while cultivating a grassroots
following. She has toured the United States, Europe and
Australia on her own and opened shows for dozens of national
recording artists.

will be answered during box office hours. Tickets must be
paid for when they are reserved.

Purchase tickets in person: The Box Office window is open 11
a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour
before performances.
Tickets ordered 24 hours prior to a performance may be paid for
at the door. Any tickets not picked up 30 minutes prior to the
performance will be released for sale. Tickets are not
refundable.
