Grew Tired of Us’
Students Opposing Acts of
Prejudice (SOAP), a student organization at UW-Marshfield/Wood
County, will be hosting a viewing and discussion of the
documentary film
“God Grew Tired of Us,” at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11,

“God Grew Tired
of Us” features the story of three African men trying to make a
new life in America after their families are evacuated from the
Sudan during the country’s civil war. The film is part of
SOAP’s campaign to promote awareness of the conflict and human
rights violations in Darfur.
Political Science
Lecturer Mike Hagman will facilitate the discussion. The film
is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

SOAP’s mission is to raise
awareness regarding acts of prejudice and its effects. The
group seeks to establish a sound understanding of the problems
revolving around these acts, and move into combating them. The
group provides a safe environment for victims of discrimination
to voice concerns, and also promote healthy relations between
people of all backgrounds.
