Neil Sokolowski Journalism Scholarship

Amount of Award:

$1,000

Eligibility:

Continuing student (full-time)

General Criteria: Applicant must have accumulated 12 credits in at least one full-time semester of attendance at UW-Marshfield/Wood County, earning a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
Specific Criteria:
  • Must be journalism major or have demonstrated excellence in communication or English

  • Preference given to writer/editor of campus publication
  • Majoring in journalism, communications or related field

Application  Requirements:
  • Submit Scholarship Application and essay by March 15

  • Continuing as full-time student in fall semester

Scholarship Purpose/History: In memory of Neil Sokolowski, who was director of public information and university relations, advisor for the campus newspaper "Insight" and taught communication and journalism classes from1966 to 1999.
