Performing Arts Series
The Performing Arts Series brings a dazzling variety of professional entertainers from around the world to the UW-Marshfield/Wood County campus.  Contact Jeannie Pitsch at UW-Marshfield/Wood County.

Campus-Community Players
The Campus-Community Players presents a wide variety of productions, including classical work, new plays, musicals and sometimes family oriented work. As a college theatre program, which also relies on members of the community in its productions, the primary goal of the program is the education of students. Many students have gone on to professional careers in acting, directing, playwriting, theatre education and theatrical production. This aim of teaching and learning, requires a variety of theatrical genres, periods and styles which reflect the current contemporary theatre landscape. There are many opportunities to get involved both onstage and off. New faces are always welcome! Please contact Steve Decker, Assistant Professor of Communication and Theatre Arts.  Click here for Theatre Production photos.

University/Community Symphonic Band:

The University/Community Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. David De Lyser, includes both UW-Marshfield/Wood County student musicians, as well as community musicians from throughout Central Wisconsin.  The group has a rich history of performing the finest wind ensemble repertoire, encompassing a wide range of styles, including overtures, marches, classical transcriptions and popular favorites.  The annual spring Sousa concert, guest-conducted by Robert Johanek, has become a much-anticipated event within the Arts at the UW series.

University Concert Choir:

Dr. David De Lyser conducts the University Concert Choir, composed of UW-Marshfield/Wood County student singers. The group performs a varied repertoire of accompanied and a cappella choral music, from Renaissance music to contemporary works.

University Jazz Ensemble:

The Jazz Ensemble explores traditional and contemporary repertoire from this uniquely American art form.  Under the direction of Jeff Erickson, the group plays everything from big band charts to small combo arrangements and includes both community members and students.

Marshfield/Wood County Symphony Orchestra
For more than 40 years, the UW-Marshfield/Wood County Symphony Orchestra has presented outstanding concerts featuring the finest in traditional and contemporary orchestral literature.  The performing season features guest artists, as well as a “Pops” concert.  The orchestra is under the direction of Timothy McCollum and includes both students and community members. For more information, contact Dr. David De Lyser.

Visual Arts Series
The Visual Arts Series, an ongoing program of the Art Department since 1986, brings recognized artists to the campus for exhibitions in the Fine Arts Gallery, public lectures, demonstrations and workshops. These visiting artists offer our students and the community insights into new ideas in contemporary art.  Julie D. Dierauer is the Gallery 450 Manager
